Clare Flatley is a Sculptor based at the Edinburgh Sculpture Workshop in Scotland, originally from Clitheroe, Lancashire. Her work utilises casting techniques to create abstract fluid forms from folded material. Driven by a curiosity and fascination with using materials such as glass, metal and ceramics, she creates works and environments that have a strangeness inherent in them, and that in some way subvert expectations. Along side small scale experimentation she creates site specific installations and environments. Recently working alongside other artists to create installations has allowed her to explore shared interests in architecture, the sanctity of urban space in the modern landscape and the cinematic experience.
