Steve Rostron studied BA Fine Art specialising in painting at Cheltenham and Gloucester College (now the University of Gloucester). He trained to be a teacher at Bretton Hall College, Yorkshire and taught and painted in Yorkshire in 2009 until he relocated to Lancashire to devote more time to painting. Steve is based in the village of Sabden and captures the dramatic countryside nearby and works from his small studio which has a clear view of Pendle hill. He states that he is fascinated by the constantly changing weather and even painting from memory his view ‘informs the end results’. Steve paints with oils, acrylics and pastels and he also specialises in Photography.
Steve Rostron has artwork on show in the gallery as well as at the Derby Arms at Thornley in Wheatley near Longridge as part of our Art Menu initiative. He has also exhibited work in Manchester and at art fairs in Liverpool, Reading and New Longton.
Steve has had a very successful relationship with the Longitude Gallery where his work proves to be very popular and is much in demand. Steve Rostron is one of the few artists that we choose to have on permanent display. We aim to always have a piece of his latest work in the gallery.
