Marta Salinas was born in Palma de Mallorca, Spain in 1963. She graduated from the Madrid school of art conservation and restoration in 1990, specialising in painting. She worked on paintings at the Royal Palace and on murals of the Church of San Francisco el Grande.
During her studies she started to work with clay and discovered a passion for sculpture where she was strongly encouraged by her tutor with strong influences of Giacometti, Brancusi and Modigliani.
Marta decided to pursue her passion for sculpture and worked creating pieces for individuals including members of the Spanish Royal family. Her jewellery and sculpture has featured in international lifestyle magazines including Vogue, Traveller, Elle and Harpers.
Her work has been exhibited in Moscow, Hong Kong and Las Vegas (‘Rising Star’ Prize 2011), as well as several cities in Spain.
