As a Pendle Primary School Teacher and Head, a lifetime of sharing a way of looking and learning lead John to begin a new journey into photography.
His love of experimentation and adventure has provided many opportunities to develop new skills in digital imaging and recently, a growing awareness of developments in printing technology and display has inspired him to produce large scale acrylic panels from his chosen images.
A first collection looks at the search for new horizons and is particularly related to the tower he saw daily on a hilltop visible throughout most of Pendle – Blacko Tower.
The tower, built by Jonathan Stansfield over 100 years ago is symbolic of one man’s search to see a new horizon and the images on display are part of a collection which attempt to reflect Jonathan’s ambition.
Simplicity and minimal detail are characteristics of the striking images which would be well suited to contemporary interiors.
