Born in Newcastle upon Tyne, Fiona has been drawing and painting since childhood with her first framed paintings being exhibited at the age of 12 at the East African Wildlife Society exhibition in Kenya.
After initially studying a foundation course in Newcastle, Fiona went on on to achieve a successful design career in Europe selling her surface designs worldwide.
Her more formal art training however was in drawing and watercolour at the Flemish Academy of Fine Art in Belgium, winning the best achievement prize of 1990 she has been a full time artist since 1991. After successful exhibitions in Amsterdam and Belgium Fiona went on to exhibit at The Mall Galleries in London in September 2005 and had three pieces chosen to exhibit alongside HRH The Prince of Wales.
Fiona is the author of six practical watercolour books, and has written regularly for Leisure Painter Magazine since 2006, helping to inspire others to be creative and enjoy painting; Fiona is also a regular speaker at Art Societies throughout the UK.
