Land of The Lakes is an exhibition by acclaimed Lakeland artist Daniel Cooper. This is Cooper’s first solo exhibition of both originals and prints outside of Cumbria, and his emotionally charged landscapes come from an intense involvement with the places he loves to explore and observe. The constantly changing weather, including sublime happenings brought on by the light, cloud and fell are what inspires Cooper’s practice, and it is how he feels that comes through in his paintings and drawings. The landscapes on show are of views of the Lake District and Cumbria, many familiar and much admired by both locals and visitors. Cooper uses locally sourced charcoal and mixed media, and is delighted to show some of his latest and unseen works, along with limited edition prints at Longitude. The exhibition runs until 1 September.
